What exactly is Giclee?

The term Giclee (pronounced Zhee-clay) is the French term to "spray in colour". It refers to an advanced printmaking process that creates high quality, fine art reproductions on original art and photography on canvas or paper.

Giclee is a digital process.

Using state-of-the-art equipment that allows us to capture not only the technical expertise but also the emotional quality of an artist's work. Using the amazing Epsom Stylus Pro 9600 large format printer, Epsom Ultrachrome pigments inks, and the finest quality archival quality papers and canvasses, the Giclee reproduction techniques renders deep saturated colours. No printing film or plates are utilized, consequently ther is no loss of detail or resolution in the reproduction. Epsom technology guarantee lightfast quality in excess of 75 years.

For best results, images need to be provided on CD, preferably a "Tif" file, in RGB colour. Best enlargement results are produced with images are 300+ DPI. This allows scope in terms of the size of image that can be reproduced. Scanned images can also be reproduced, however limitation exist in expanding the size of the image so as not to loose its original integrity.
